The Murtoa Museum collects, preserves, and displays the history of Murtoa. At the precinct are the old Railway Water Tower, Concordia Cottage, Concordia Bell Tower, and Murtoa Railway Station, all from the late 1800s. The Murtoa & District Historical Society needed a website to be able to promote all the things to see and do at the precinct.
Challenge
Approach
The website was designed by a third party and custom-built by the GOOP Digital team in Geelong. The site is simple but includes a lot of content—copy, photos, and videos. It was critical to give the site a clean and organised structure for good usability.
Results
Murtoa Museum Precinct’s new website has everything you need to know about what the precinct has to offer, the history of the town, as well as ways to get involved and plan a visit. This a great way for the local historical society to promote Murtoa and build their online presence. They are off to a great start as the website is already ranking very well on Google.
"Murtoa & District Historical Society congratulates you and your team for the excellent web build of Murtoa Museum. We feel it's an exceptional and dynamic representation of what we have to offer as a museum and tourist attraction.
The website is beyond our original concept, thanks to the creative input from Natasha Pietsch and GOOP's flexibility and ability to provide such a high standard and accommodating our many requests. This website gives us a better tool to promote and build a greater profile online. We are very proud of how it looks and works.
Thank you."
