In very exciting news, Bruce and Karl are jetting off to the SMX West Search Marketing Expo in San Jose! They’ll be rubbing shoulders with some of the industry’s biggest names, including Google’s Director of Conversational Search, plus a huge list of engineers, analysts and marketers with their fingers on the pulse.
Kicking off on February 29, both will be bursting with new knowledge, fresh from specialised introduction sessions. Karl will be taking in everything he can from SEO pioneer Bruce Clay’s SEO Training course while Bruce will brush up on local digital marketing tips at the Local Search Advantage deep-dive session.

Ballarat’s Calora Demolitions has three generations of demolitions experience on hand. Specialising in tree removal, asbestos and scrap metal removal and EPA contamination clean-ups, they also offer a range of fleet hire services to make demolition works simple.
As an existing GOOP Digital client, Calora Demolitions chose to move their existing website to a responsive design site. Using WordPress, we built a website that translates well across any screen size.

At GOOP Digital, we’re always looking for ways to make small business easier for our clients. Recently we’ve been investigating the pros and cons of POP3 emails.
POP3 emails allow you to access your email from a remote server. However there are limitations in functionality and versatility – especially if you try to access your emails from more than one computer. There is no syncing of emails between multiple devices which is not ideal for small businesses in this environment.
This service is primarily for people requiring a single email address and using one device. It’s for this reason that GOOP Digital does not recommend POP3 for our clients…. plus, this technology has been around since the late-1980s, without any updates.
Instead, we recommend clients use Google Apps for emails or one of the following:
- Gmail
- Microsoft 365
- Exchange.
Please note GOOP Digital can set up Google Apps for you to self -manage but does not support or manage Google Apps or other email services. Email services will need to be managed by your IT provider. GOOP Digital can also recommend IT providers for you.
How important is email to your business? Think about what would happen if you weren’t able to access emails for a period of time. If it would significantly impact your business, it’s time to seriously consider investing in a reliable email service.
