Browser: The program that displays web sites on your computer eg Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox.
Content Management Systems (CMS): A website system where you can change or add to your website without additional costs.
Directory: A website that acts as an index of other sites.
Domain Name: Part of the address typed in to find your website.It is also used for your email addresses.
Link: The user is taken to another location of the site or another site by clicking on the link.
Metatags: Coding that is part of your website and web pages. This means, along with keywords in your website, search engines such as Google and Bing, rank your website.
Ranking: Your website is ranked by search engines according to how the search engine reads your website. A high ranking means your website is on page one of a Google search.

Search Engine: Internet search engines help users find web pages on a particular subject. Google and Bing are popular search engines.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): A set of strategies used to increase a site's position or rank in a search engine.
Server: The computer storage provided by a web host or web hosting company.
